Martin's donates $12k in PPE to area organizations

Joe Kelly, Managers of Martin's in DuBois, said they donated $12,000 worth of hand sanitizer, soap and alcohol cloths to five area organizations.

"It was DCC, the Central Catholic School in DuBois, the Dubois Area School District, Treasure Lake DC Center, Pentz Run and in Clearfield we also donated to Saint Francis," he said.

He said they reached out to people they partnered with before that could use the product quickly.

"The product became available because we had mass quantities shipped in at the beginning of the COVID pandemic and it was product that we weren't going to sell," said Kelly.

DuBois Central Catholic said they received enough PPE to get them through the school year.

They released this statement that said, "We were truly grateful for the donation of cleaning and sanitation items from Martin Foods. The quantity of hand soap and sanitizer received will take us to the end of this school year. Funds that were designated to purchase these items can now be redirected to educational items."

That excess of product also helped Pentz Run Family Services in DuBois.

"It was really great to receive this from Martins, they were so helpful for us. They have given to us in the past as well so they've been always supportive of us," said Debbie Gregori, Executive Director for Pentz Run Family Services.

When an opportunity comes, Kelly said they're always happy to help out their community.
